> Sensitive Spaces

Looking at the house as a conscious organism, I wanted to analyse the physicality of our built environment, subsequently creating structural interventions within the inner space that increase awareness of our surroundings.

By heightening our senses, we can increase our sensitivity to situations, so taking inspiration from animals that have senses unknown to us, I applied these concepts to architecture and objects.
Animals use their heightened senses to aid in protection and defence against predators, therefore, applying this concept to our own surroundings could create a new level of consciousness to familiar space that we would otherwise be unresponsive to.

By illustrating how a space can become responsive to intricate actions that we as humans may not always detect, I have created a suggestive experience that aims to provoke new thinking about the spatial environment of a home.
